Grand Pier celebrates Topping Out Ceremony with Sisk

John Sisk & Son Ltd. (Sisk), one of the largest construction groups in the UK and Ireland, has celebrated the Topping Out Ceremony of the Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare, which was devastated by fire last year.

The Grand Pier is on time and on budget to reopen in the summer and it has been on a tight building schedule since August. The rebuilt pier will feature a new and enlarged Pavilion, with bigger and better rides and visitor facilities.

The Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare - going up!

Work has started erecting the frame of the new Pavilion building on Weston's Grand Pier, which is being constructed by contractor John Sisk & Son (Sisk).

Commenting on the structure of the Pavilion Les Nicholls, Director Western Region, Sisk commented: “We have already completed a great deal of work on the structure, the steel beams underneath and the new metal deck but this is the first visible sign that the Grand Pier is really on its way to being rebuilt.”
