Derwent London has engaged John Sisk & Son on a design and build contract to develop two dilapidated 1980s office blocks in Islington, north London into a modern open plan high specification office development.
First stage of the project will involve removal of facades to expose the original reinforced concrete frame. The existing frames will then be linked over a live mews road creating four extended floors to 2 Pentonville Road. 14 Pentonville Road will be extended at the rear creating six extended floor plates.
Both offices will be finished to full Category A standard with a completely new ME&P infrastructure. Basement areas will also become new office space, enhanced with the introduction of natural light via structural pavement glazing and further internal atriums.
A total of 43,000sq ft of office space will be created as a result of the development.
