Data Electronics
Client : Data Electronics
Value : €4.6m
This project was constructed in two phases. Sisk were the Management Contractor and were responsible for full construction, equipment installation and hook up, co-ordination of client vendors, start- up, commissioning and handover of this facility to Data Electronics.
Phase 1 was completed in Feb 2011 with Phase 2 ongoing until April 2011 with a total contract value of €4.6 million.
Phase 1
The Phase 1 contract included the refurbishment of an existing ground floor Data Hall which was merged with a live operational Data Hall to give a total Data Suite area of 1,300 m². The live Data Hall was segmented with an air tight temporary partition to allow the merging new fit out to be constructed. All site personnel received detailed live environment inductions and a full access permit and method statement approval regime was in operation for all works. Sisk were responsible for the management of this system and the client approves all method statements and access permits prior to works commencing on site.
Phase 2
The Phase 2 works comprised the complete fit out of an existing 1st floor room to form a new Data Hall to give a total area of 1,300m2.
Within the main building, an adjacent operational facilities area which feeds the operational live Data Hall was modified and fitted out to facilitate the increase in power, redundancy and operational demands of both newly constructed phases of work. The facilities area has a total area of 2,400m2 which allows for the upgrade works and newly constructed rooms to feed the completed operational phases of work. Within the scope of works was the infill of a 1,000m2 mezzanine area (Steel/Composite deck construction) to enable 2 new switch rooms to be constructed for Phase 3. The area is also maintained for the future expansion of this facility as required.
Externally, there was a requirement to construct 3 new concrete plinths to house new plant required for both phases of work. Phase 1 required the installation of two 2.2MVA Diesel Generators whilst Phase 2 required installation two 2.2MVA Diesel Generators and two 1100 KV Chillers.
• Total value Phase 1 & Phase 2 = €4.6 million
• Value of services = €3.3 million
Sisk managed all equipment installation on site and co-ordinated all client vendors installation to final start up & commissioning.
