UK Association of Proposal Management Professionals appoints new CEO
Ken Erskine selected to lead UK chapter of international body
The UK Association of Proposal Management Professionals (UKAPMP) has appointed Ken Erskine as CEO of the professional body. The organisation provides support and improves opportunities for companies to acquire new business, and to sustain growth and competitiveness in the marketplace.
Ken currently leads the Major Projects bid team at contractor John Sisk & Son Ltd (Sisk), one of the largest construction groups in the UK and Ireland and has over twenty years of proposal and bid management experience within construction and related industries. Commenting on his appointment he said:
“As incoming CEO, my mission will be not only to lead the board of the UKAPMP but also to raise its profile nationally by developing our skills and knowledgebase and providing an even better service for our increasing membership base. This is a fantastic appointment that I really intend to make my own.”
Key initiatives Ken will be working on include:
• Membership, PR & communications, conference & events;
• Growth and development membership benefits, communities of interest groups and regional activity;
• Raising the profile of the association with employers and other relevant bodies;
• Increase the knowledge and specialist skills of APMP membership;
• Promoting the APMP accreditation and recognised competency levels to provide a framework for career development.
The UKAPMP provides opportunities through membership to gain valuable knowledge about business development and industry best practice to help achieve high growth goals. It is an international organisation with 3,500 members, which operates on a local level with around 650 in the UK.
Through association and education, the UKAPMP provides its members with access to:
